The purpose of this class is introduce students to techniques that help prevent capsize and to get familiar with how to edge the boat.  Anyone that wants to roll should start here.  Students gain underwater comfort by doing wet exits and playing in an upside down boat while in the pool.  We  focus on understanding connections between boat and body. We will teach you the correct use of upper and lower body with the kayak on edge then add the paddle to achieve maximum effect.  By the end of class, we turn on the waves in the wave pool and the real fun begins!

Exclusions

Due to the size of the pool, we ask that you use only boats that are 12 feet or shorter. If you need to borrow a boat please let us know and one will be provided.

Cancellation Policy

The Pacific Northwest is a dynamic and often unpredictable environment. All activities are run/fun rain or shine. All programs are conditions dependent and may change at any time at our discretion. In order to keep our programs affordable a minimum number of participants may be required. If we are unable to fill a program to a minimum requirement level we reserve the right to cancel the program. A full refund will be provided in the event of a cancelled or re-scheduled activity upon request. Please allow 48 hour notice for any cancellations or changes in your reservation. North Clackamas Aquatic Park: 7300 SE Harmony Rd., Milwaukie, OR 97222. (503)794-8080. Take the Sunnyside Rd. Exit off I-205 and go west across 82nd Ave.(this is where Sunnyside will turn into Harmony Rd.) Take a left at the traffic light and follow the road back and around to the aquatic park.
